Seven
Years We
drifted out to the ocean
As the sun went down
Where the river runs into it
Near my home town
Then we paddled our boat back
Though a resting flock
And we tried to be quiet
We didn’t even talk
Seven
years to write this down
You know l miss you when your not around
Seven years to hear my heart
Beating like wings in the autumn dark
Then the full moon came up
Like a watchman’s lamp
Searchin for the perpetrators
Of this peaceful camp
And we pleaded our innocence
To the startled geese
Cause we never ever meant
To disturb their peace
Chorus
Well the wind was against us
And the waves were too
Then through the darkness you thought
You saw a light or two
And we made our bearings
And we made landfall
And we made love in the moonlight
To make up for it all
